Fridays Musings!

Apologies are due! Last week's Fridays musings contains three absurd statements followed by "and then they voted" I meant to make one a Republican, one a Democrat and one an independent but I hit the "send" button too quickly.

So. if you were offended, here is one for you.......

A person, belonging to an ethnic group whose members are commonly considered to have certain stereotypical mannerisms, met another person belonging to a different ethnic group with a different set of imputed stereotypical mannerisms.

The first person acted in a manner consistent with the stereotypes associated with his ethnic group. He proceeded to make a remark, which might be considered to establish conclusively his membership in that group. Whereupon his companion proceeded to make a remark with a double meaning. The first meaning of which could be interpreted to indicate his agreement with his companion. But the other meaning of which, serves to corroborate his membership in his particular ethnic group.

The first person took offense at his remark, and reacted in a stereotypical way.

I'm proud to report that my high school has named a chair for me - unfortunately, it's in the principal's office............

I bet living in a nudist colony took all the fun out of Halloween.

Of course life is bizarre, the more bizarre it gets, the more interesting it is. The only way to approach it is to make yourself some popcorn and enjoy the show."

TV commercials now show you how detergents take out bloodstains. I think if you've got a T-shirt with a bloodstain all over it, maybe laundry isn't your biggest problem.

If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

A "Factoid" for you!

Grant Wood's famous painting of an old Indiana couple posing in front of their farmhouse is considered the definitive portrait of the Midwestern farmer. In actuality, the man and women aren't really a couple nor are they farmers. Also, the "farmhouse" in the picture was once used as a bordello.

If you enjoy this newsletter just half as much as we enjoy doing it, then we've enjoyed it twice as much as you.
