Friday's Musings

Pushing back the frontiers of ignorance..............................

I'm back from a vacation in CO, UT, NM & AZ. I have a habit of at least nodding or saying "Hello" to anyone with whom I make eye contact. Observation is that we have a lot of international visitors from all over the world and the Europeans, in general, are very rude and our native Americans are very sullen.

The Liberals took a major hit to their credibility this week. Their icon - Joe Wilson (he of Valery Plane fame) turns out to have been a big liar - according to the WASHINGTON POST! Turns out that a minion of their other hero - Colin Powell - spilled the beans to Bob Novak, not Carl Rove or Dick Chaney - and the major Libs knew all along so they were lying too!

Mary's Marvelous Mutterings................................

All men make mistakes, but married men find out about them sooner

Some minds are like concrete, thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

Want a little peace and quiet around your house? Buy a phoneless cord.

If people weren't meant to have midnight snacks, then why do they put a light in the refrigerator?

It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

Deep Thoughts from the Enlightened....................

"When I go to heaven, I want to see my grandpa again. But he better have lost the nose hair and the old-man smell." -Age 5

"If we could just get everyone to close their eyes and visualize world peace for an hour, imagine how serene and quiet it would be until the looting started." -Age 15

Facts you need to know...........................................

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.

On average, people fear spiders more than they do death.

The strongest muscle in the body is the TONGUE.

Only one person in two billion will live to be 116 or older.

That's it from your embedded reporter, located in the sunny triangle near the village of Absurdia, the proud capital of the province of Absurdistan where the boy mayor, running for governor on his contribution to education is satisfied with a high school graduation rate of 3%!

And on the other hand...........................

The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one's work seriously and taking oneself seriously. The first is imperative and the second disastrous.
