Saluting Alcoholics Anonymous

June 26, 2010

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Anonymity is the very essence of Alcoholics Anonymous, so we can hardly expect members of this quiet support network to kick up their heels to mark the recent 75th anniversary of the international organization. But that shouldn't stop others from extending words of appreciation for the immeasurable good work this phenomenal group has accomplished for individuals and their families.

Founded in Akron, Ohio in 1935, AA has spread internationally because of its successful approach in offering alcoholics a way of life that allows them to stay sober. Who hasn't been touched in some way by alcoholism? For every alcoholic that has been helped by AA, there's a family, a network of friends, a workplace, an entire community that have reason to be profoundly grateful for the unsung work of this inspiring organization.
